Where Does the Time Go???

Good intentions. That's what I have when it comes to updating my blog. But you know what they say about good intentions!

I couldn't believe that it has been over a year since I've posted anything. Wowzers!

Homeschooling and work along with all of the other everyday things seem to keep me so busy. I miss the days when I was just a stay-at-home mom & wife. Things weren't so hectic and stressful then.

Well, I am just going to have to find the time to record the events of my life...my busy, busy life.

Playing Catch Up

It feels like I haven't posted in forever!! ;o) I had good intentions, but that's as far as it got.

My Big Sweetie boiled more sap last week and we had some friends come out to visit and see the process. I learned some more maple syrup making facts too. :o) I'll share those in another post this week. :o)

On Wednesday I cooked something that apparently had MSG in it and I had a doozy of a headache for 2 days. :o( I never get headaches, except for sinus headaches, so I knew there had to be a reason for it. Thinking back, I could trace it to the ingredient containing MSG. Another lesson learned I guess. :o)

On Thursday, it was snowing. I mean SNOWING! It was crazy. I mean it is April. Spring. We're not supposed to be getting snow. But we did. ;o)

So Friday, my mom & aunt we're coming out to visit for the day. Well, my Big Sweetie wasn't sure that they would be able to get up our hill/driveway. The government plow will usually plow up here so they can turn at the top of the hill, but since it is a private drive and the ground was soft, they prbably didn't want to tear the road up. So we, my Big Sweetie, Little Sweetie and & I, all went out to shovel as my mom and aunt were on their way out. Shoveling on a hill??? Ugh!! Long story short, they got stuck, we shoveld some more, pushed the car and they made it up the hill. Wowzers was I ever sore the next day. I must have muscels, because everyone of them was sore. :o)

So I think I am starting to get back to a routine after a busy few days. Looking forward to posting more this week. :o)

Thursday Morning Ramblings

I titled my post 'ramblings', because I have no particular thoughts for this post. I just going to think and type. :o) :o)

I have to say I am happy with the infusion of color on my blog. I liked the green, but there was just too much. I really like the pinks, pruple and lighter green. I'm quite new to blogging, so I keep tinkering away with the layout and colors. It's kind of like fixing up a new house. I want to make it comfy, homey and welcoming. Thanks to Shereen for her help with blog questions.

Now that I'm satsifeid with the layout, I have to focus on my posting. It's wierd, because anyone who knows me personally would say I am a talker and never at a loss for words. ;o) But there is just something about typing up a post and seeing my words there. I will read the post over several times and then usually save it as a draft. I don't know why that is?? Maybe new blog gitters?? Did anyone else experience this when you first started blogging?

My little Sweetie is sleeping in late this morning. Usually he is up earlier, but we had a late night last night. Plus he is on his 2nd round of antibiotics for his bronchitis. He has a recheck tomorrow. Praying that that will go well and his lungs will be clear.

Our neighbor passed away early Saturday morning. He was diagnosed with ALS last fall. It is so sad for us to see his house and know that he is not there. No more visits or phone calls. We still can't believe it. He called my husband when the ambulance was on the way and he called us from the hospital. By the next morning he was unconsciuos and passed away the following day. He was a great neighbor to us. Unfortuantly, he had a difficult life. Alcohol, in is his younger days, cost him his marriage and his relationship with his 2 sons, and that seems to be what people (who didn't know him well) remember most. We remember the man who visited us often, who invited us to his house for popcorn, who called just to chat, who spent sunny afternoons talking with my Big Sweetie on the deck while Little Sweetie served them cold iced tea. We remember his kindness and his friendship. I wish that others would have had the opportunity to know him as we did. He had a good heart and regretted the decisions that cost him so much. I pray that we will see him again one day, in a better place where famillies won't be pulled apart, where disease can't destroy and where he and my Big Sweetie can sit and chat on a sunny afternoon.

My Little Sweetie is still not feeling well :o(

My Little Sweetie is still under the weather. I wish it was me instead of him. I am hoping that once the antibiotics start to work then he will begin feeling better. His lungs sound better to me. His fever is still going up a bit and his appetite is non-existent. He will drink a little bit and have a popsicle, but not nearly as much fluid intake as I would like. Maybe a good nights sleep will do wonders. Of course I am praying for him constantly too. It breaks my heart to see him so sick and tired.

Please say a prayer that he'll get better soon. Thank you.

Happenings around here

Well, my little sweetie is sick. He hadn't been feeling well most of the weekend, but yesterday it really hit him. So I took him to the Dr this afternoon, and he has bronchitis. He's had it before, so when he gets so he's not feeling well I listen to his lungs. They sounded raspy to me, and sure enough. Poor little man was sick tonight and tried to get to the washroom , but just couldn't make it. . :o) When I am checking on him he says, "Sorry"(for the mess on the floor). Of course I told him not to worry a thing about that. I told him I'd get him a face cloth, but he insisted it not be his Toronto Maple Leafs one. I guess it is too special for that situation. :o)

Since he wasn't feeling well, we skipped school today. I tried several different times to change the look of my blog, but it just didn't work. I found some nice templates that I liked, but for some reason they wouldn't work. So I guess this will have to do. Don't be surprised if you stop by and it's changed again. :o)

New Look!

I decided to change the look of my blog. This looked alot brighter than my other template. I think I like it?? I'll see I guess. I may end up changing it again. :o)
